Germany's Andre Greipel finished 5th in Today's 6th Stage of the Santos Tour Down in Adelaide, becoming the second rider to win 2, along with Australia's Stuart O'Grady who won in 1999, and 2001.

As fate would have it both riders also won their second with a year in between, with Greipel winning his first in 2008.

Greipel said afterwards he was extremely happy, and happy for the team as well, and thanked his fellow HTC-Columbia team riders for their support.

Greipel's victory was made sweeter because of his tragic exit from last years race, after crashing into a parked Police motorbike, and missed four months after shoulder surgery as a result.

Britain's Team Sky rounded off their debut race in impressive style, with Christopher Sutton finishing first in today's 6th stage, and team mate Greg Henderson finishing second, ahead of Graeme Brown finishing third for team Rabobank.

American cycling legend Lance Armstrong, who is targeting an eighth Tour de France win at the record age of 38, started the day 47 seconds back and finished 25th overall for the Tour.

Team Sky took over in the final section of Sunday's stage in central Adelaide, with Chris Sutton and Greg Henderson passing Graeme Brown, who held the lead for most of the race, claiming the rich new outfit's second one-two finish of the week.

Greg Henderson's third place overall, put Sky on the podium in their very first race as they bid to produce Britain's first ever Tour de France champion.

Spain's Luis Leon Sanchez took second overall.

Greipel dominated this week, claiming the first two stages with what is now his trademark sprints and then holding off an Armstrong attack with another powerful finish on day four.

Australia's Wesley Sulzberger riding for Francaise des Jeux, threatened a sensational upset when he opened up a 43-second lead in a three-man break with four laps of the central Adelaide circuit to go.

But they were caught with about 2.5 kilometres to go and the two Sky riders controlled the last section, adding to their first and second places in the street race.

The six-stages of the Santos Tour Down Under is raced over 800 kilometres (500 miles) of roads around metroplitan Adelaide, and has grown into one of Australia's biggest sporting events attracting hundreds of thousands of fans.

Stage 6: 90km, Adelaide CBD.
